Process
Two types of interviews were conducted; the first was directly with the real estate sellers to know their process when offering a unit within a project.
The second with potential buyers or people who recently acquired a property and who could tell us about their experience as buyers and possible pain points when making a quote.
For the seller, the quotation process was too complex since it depended on different channels to be able to see the availability and cost of a unit.
For the buyer to receive a quote it could take several days and sometimes the unit that was quoted could be set aside without the seller and the buyer knowing it.
With the result of the research, we worked with some members of the team: product designer lead, dev sr, UX writer and product designer (me).
We generate a flow of what should be the steps to make an online quote, taking into account the needs of both user profiles. A 5-step flow was created to facilitate the quotation process thinking that it should be friendly and simple.
We created a simple and clear interface that together with ux writing helped to have short and direct messages of the steps to follow when creating the quote, the possibility of sharing the quote in a pdf file was added to give flexibility to both types of users to have the necessary information and always available.
Once having the prototype of the quote flow, tests were carried out with users, both sellers and buyers, asking to describe each step at the time of interacting with the quoter; all comments were considered by both types of user to make some adjustments according to each one.
When launching the product, adjustments were considered for each client according to the specific needs of each project, this facilitated the adoption of the online quote.
